For those wishing to take their passion for sailing one step further, our management operation, Aura Yachting Turkey, provides a comprehensive package to help you own the yacht of your dreams, VAT-free and without the overwhelming running costs.

The Scheme
The emphasis of our yacht management scheme is to keep your yacht meticulously maintained and for you to get a return on your investment; you, the owner will receive an income from all charters on your yacht during the course of a season.

Whether you purchase through Aura or add your existing yacht to our fleet, you will reap the benefits of our scheme threefold:

Firstly, you will be rewarded with a well-maintained yacht. Our preventative maintenance program is to a very high standard, aiming to fulfill our goal of keeping a good personal relationship with our owners and caring for your craft as if it were our own.

Secondly, by chartering your yacht through our extensive network of world-wide agents, you will enjoy a financial return that will contribute to your running costs and original capital investment.

Finally, you will experience the pleasure of bringing your family and friends onboard your yacht without the hassle and hard graft involved in launching and commissioning. Instead, your yacht will be ready and waiting, spotlessly clean, looking magnificent and fully serviced. Beds will be made, fridges running and even provisioned, if you request it. Also, we do not limit the number of weeks that you, the owner, use your yacht each year.

The owner pays an annual management fee to Aura Yachting, covering the labour costs involved in commissioning, maintaining and de-commissioning the yacht each year, and other running costs including annual marina fees, insurance, charter licence fee, replacement parts, etc. When the boat is chartered the owner receives a charter income less any agency and turnaround costs.

The Contract
When purchasing your new yacht through Aura, or adding your new or existing yacht to the Aura fleet, we will agree an initial contract period depending on what suits you. After this time, you may renew your contract for a further agreed period. An Aura yacht can sustain an extended charter life if you wish, simply because of the high standards of equipment and maintenance, also by allowing only experienced sailors to charter with Aura. This greatly reduces the wear and tear that is all too common in this industry.

The Yacht
A good quality yacht is essential to the charter industry. Our charter guests expect reliable, high quality fittings and equipment. Aura can advise you on all aspects of the purchase, making sure that you are happy with your choice and also what works well for charter.

Aura Yachting can help you purchase your new yacht and its equipment at competitive rates. We will deal with the manufacturers and dealers through the whole building process, organise the inventory and have the yacht delivered safely to Turkey by a professional team. We will deal with all the formalities necessary to place your yacht into the Aura fleet including importation into Turkey, yacht charter licence and insurance.

Insurance
Your yacht will be insured for charter use through Aura Yachting as part of the fleet insurance.

Why Turkey?
Turkey offers some of the best sailing grounds in the Mediterranean. The regular winds, warm climate and long season compliment a stunning coastline of awesome beauty, dotted with a fabulous choice of picturesque villages, isolated coves and modern harbours and marinas. The people are very friendly; the food is good, but inexpensive and the shore-side attractions abundant.

Our base at Yalikavak marina on the Bodrum peninsula offers the yachtsman and visitor all the facilities of a modern establishment, including an extensive technical section, leisure facilities, shopping and supplies. The prevailing wind keeps the temperature down in the heat of summer. What’s more, the owner of a yacht “exported” to Turkey can benefit from VAT exemption while the yacht is based there. If at a later date, you wish to return to European waters, you are normally only liable for the VAT on the value of the yacht at that time.
